This report brings together findings drawn together from on-the-ground research, programme delivery and mapping exercises carried out during phase 2 of northern bloc. The report serves to inform current and future project partners and other providers on the creative technology sector in Anglesey, Conwy and Gwynedd and makes recommendations towards future strategic development.

Outline:

The aims of the Project were:

*to identify current levels of provision of business development, training, presentation and production opportunities
*to identify the current skill base and level of activity of practitioners
*to identify gaps in provision
*to continue to develop networks to provide real opportunities for collaboration, alliance, and partnership between Wales-based organisations
*to enable cross discipline exchanges between business and industry, science and technology, education and creative practices.

The project took place over a twelve-month period from July 2007 across the three counties of Anglesey, Conwy and Gwynedd.

Project Activities

*Mapping Exercise
The Mapping Exercise aimed to identify practitioner skill levels and activity, examples of good practice and levels of, and gaps in, provision. The exercise was undertaken via a questionnaire for creative technology practitioners and related providers in the project area;
*Events Programme
The events programme delivered three networking events, three themed seminars during the project period, and a one-day conference. Events were open to practitioners, small businesses, providers, students and interested members of the public in the project region;
*Acting as a source of expertise on creativity and technology in Wales, advocating and lobbying for resources and profile for the creative technology sector;
*Promoting activity in creative technology online through bloc’s electronic bulletin and website.
