bloc is opening an Idea Clinic at Machynlleth Mini Maker Faire and offering appointments on a first come first served basis.

A panel of innovation development organisations working in Wales are coming together to offer individuals and/or organisations a unique opportunity to gain advice, input and potential support for your ideas.

Participants are invited to present your ideas to the panel with a 5 minute pitch and get a and 5 min response from the panelists in terms of quality and potential support.

The panel will be made up of Dyfan Searell, Design and Innovation, Inventorium, Hamish Fyfe, Project Director of Creative Exchange Wales Network, CEW-N, Iain Tweedale, Head of Interactive Services & Learning BBC Wales, Tom Metcalfe, Producer of REACT Objects Sandbox and Lisa Mathews, Portfolio Manager for Arts Council Wales. It will be facilitated by Emma Posey, Creative Director of bloc.

Biographies:
Dyfan Searell, Design and Innovation, Inventorium
Dyfan is a skilled multidisciplinary designer based in Snowdonia, North Wales. He can help you take an idea, and make it happen.
From events to engineering, he brings a bright, personable, resourceful approach. He can quickly grasp a concept, and define and deliver for you the steps needed to develop or deliver it.

Hamish Fyfe, Project Director of Creative Exchange Wales Network (CEW-N)
Hamish is Professor of the Arts and Society at the University of Glamorgan, as well as Director of the Centre for Digital Economy.

Iain Tweedale (Head of Interactive Services & Learning BBC Wales) BBC
The development of new digital formats for connected broadcasting is central to the future of BBC Cymru Wales and we are keen to work with the independent sector to develop interactive content and learning resources across online, mobile and interactive TV platforms.

Tom Metcalfe, Producer of REACT Objects Sandbox
Currently Producer of REACT Objects Sandbox. Tim is a designer, with a specialism in object design, physical-digital and design thinking. My background is both in academia and industry, having recently worked in senior positions at both rAndom International and the Product Research Studio.
I’m co-founder of Fieldguide, an occasional collective and sometimes journal for people interested in design, technology, society and the intersections where they overlap.
My collaborations and employment have resulted in my work being presented and exhibited at, amongst others, the Wellcome Trust, British Library, V&A and Design Miami. He’s also talked and delivered workshops internationally, including SXSW, Sotheby’s and NID India.

Lisa Mathews, Portfolio Manager, Arts Council Wales.
Portfolio Manager for Arts Council of Wales working across creative and digital economy and previously Managing Director at Welsh Music Foundation. Lisa is also a Director’s for Cerdd Cymru : Music Wales.

Emma Posey, Creative Director and Founder of bloc
Dr Emma Posey founded bloc in 1998. She works in a consultancy capacity for bloc as well as other organisations and HEIs in Wales. She has lectured and written widely on creativity and technology as well as within her own art practice. She is particularly interested in innovation, idea development, entrepreneurism and social engagement, recently founding Ping, an online idea generator.
