Old-School-Meets-New-School…SOUND

Tuesday 9th November

Retain the tactile, playful elements of analogue sound recording techniques, while speeding up the editing and post-production process with digital editing!

Want to record found sounds, performances, or just explore the other-worldly, sensory realm of hidden sounds? Learn optimum recording techniques, field recording, sound manipulation and editing software and how to apply within sound installation, as soundtracks or simply as recordings.

The workshop will cover converting and importing old film and photography footage, editing, transitions, using text and effects and generally learning to feel comfortable with image manipulation and editing software.

An excellent opportunity to make a photobook of artwork, for archiving, portfolio or publicity purposes. Starting from scratch the course will cover photographing your work, manipulating existing imagery and then using these to create a book, with InDesign publishing software, AND an e-portfolio!

Intermediate….FILM

Friday 19th November

So, you’ve gone to a beginners course, and can cut, slice, rotate and apply more transitions than you can shake a clapperboard at! But what next?

Continuing on from basic techniques and software approaches in Final Cut, learn how to manipulate video, use multiple screens, live type fonts, and alter backgrounds through green screen techniques. Develop ideas with advanced techniques, exporting films and burning DVD showreels.

Intermediate….PHOTOSHOP

Wednesday 1st December

So, you’ve done a beginners course, and can crop, rotate and apply more artistic filters than you can shake a pixel at! But what next?

Come along for our intermediate workshop, where we’ll be continuing on from basic techniques, exploring composition, cut outs, cloning, collaging different elements together, layers and masks as we take one step closer to total Photoshop domination!

All of the above workshops have a maximum of three participants to one tutor, which is excellent for asking questions and gaining in-depth learning.
