The Centre is Here – Spaces ⁄⁄

Organised in association with Chapter Arts Centre, this will be the seventh in a series of symposium events aimed at discussing the key issues of making and exhibiting contemporary art in Wales. This time around the event will look at how and why artists have used alternative spaces to initiate projects in venues as varied as vacant shop units, warehouses, print media, social spaces and their own homes. Its never been more timely for artist to begin to take on such projects and this day will be a chance to hear and speak to people involved closely with such projects.

Confirmed speakers include; Dan Thompson (Director Empty Shops Network); Rhys Coren, (Artist, Co-Director of Rhys and Hannah Presents and member of Inter City Mainline); Hannah James (Artist, Co-Director of Rhys and Hannah Presents and director of Central Reservation); Rebecca Chesney (Artist and founder of Pest); Manon Awst (Artist)

There are a maximum of 30 spaces for each symposium with tickets being allocated on a first come first served basis. Tickets are subsidised and cost £10 this will include light refreshments.
