G39 Professional Development Programme ⁄⁄

Location: wales

G39 is an artist run organisation based in Cardiff that has become an important element of the visual arts infrastructure in Wales. The gallery has a commitment to support artists in Wales, acting as a conduit for contemporary work across the country and exhibiting it alongside work from further afield.

As well as the exhibition programme g39 also plays a key role in sustaining networks between artists and operates as a hub for a generation of artists.

The Professional Development Programme aims to strengthen the visual arts sector by assisting with teh development of good practice and information sharing.

The Development Programme will assist with questions on funding, artist led activity, approaching galleries or providing feedback on current practice. The scheme allows artists to begin a dialogue with g39 while providing the curatorial team at g39 with a more comprehensive overview of new work in Wales.

In 2006 we will be continuing the schemes from the gallery in Cardiff as well as initiating a series of surgeries in:

Aberystwyth (Monday 22nd May),
Carmarthen (Firday 9th June),
Llandudno (Tuesday 13th June) and
Newtown (Tuesday 4th July).
