Pixel Palace are inviting applications from artists working in new technologies and moving image for this year’s Artists in Residence programme based at the Tyneside Cinema (Newcastle upon Tyne, UK).
The Artists in Residence programme is now in its third year, offering three artists the opportunity to develop new work within a peer supported environment that engages with the working cinema and its surroundings. Following an atelier process, this programme presents an active period of time to develop and research new work.
An integral part of the Artists in Residency programme is an active engagement with The Factory, our group of young artists aged between 14-19 years, who work collaboratively on as seasonal basis to create new work alongside professional artists.
The Artist in Residence 2013 programme will begin on Monday 26 August and end on Friday 25 October. Artists must be based at the cinema throughout the whole residency period.
