Outline:

We Are Not Alone is an informal way to meet other creative people working in the Heads of the Valleys area (or people from other areas who would like to expand their network). The event will bring together practitioners who have been involved in the Southern Bloc project. It will also widen the network to include practitioners in other artforms, such as visual art, dance and performance.

Also invited are agencies such as business support, arts and community development, education and social enterprises who would like to make contact with creative people in the area, or would like an opportunity to tell people about the support they can offer.

The session will be programmed so that everyone gets a chance to meet everyone else, to informally present their work, ideas or services, and to make new contacts. Following the session, the venue (and bar) will be open until 9pm.

The aim of the event is to promote collaboration between practitioners, to strengthen the network created by the Southern Bloc Project and to give practitioners an opportunity to promote their work to the agencies working in the area (and vice versa).

The event is being organised jointly by Blaenau Gwent Arts Development, Cultural Enterprise (http://www.cultural-enterprise.com) and Southern Bloc.

What to bring:

Practitioners may wish to bring examples of their work, either in portfolio form or on a laptop.
Agencies should ensure that they provide marketing material and points of contact for practitioners who wish to follow up initial introductions.

Sponsors:
